The federal government, together with the private initiative, announced a new package that includes 16 new road projects, of road infrastructure, bridges and interchanges throughout the country that add up to a total investment amount of 93 thousand 234 million pesos.
Arturo Herrera, Secretary of Finance and Public Credit, explained during the morning conference that the first of these projects to start at the end of November was the construction of the Naucalpan-Ecatepec highway, an investment of 20 billion pesos between the government of the State of Mexico and the construction company ICA.
« For this announcement we have 29 projects for a total of 228 billion pesos, the first is estimated to start in November of this year, it has already started, it is a project in the State of Mexico with an investment of 20 billion pesos », said.
Also noteworthy are the construction of the Cuapiaxtla-Cuacnopalan highway, between the government of Puebla and Mota Engil for an amount of 4 thousand 211 million pesos and the Altar-Sásabe highway in charge of Pinfra in Sonora for an amount of 4 thousand 617 million pesos. pesos, to start in the first quarter of 2021.
Herrera highlighted the construction of the Colima Bypass with a mixed participation scheme for 2,692 million pesos, to move cargo on the highway to the state of Jalisco and the rest of the country.
« It is a bypass to the city of Colima in that area, the engine of the economy is Puerto Manzanillo, an important part of everything that is unloaded in Manzanillo and in general is taken to the rest of the country, it passes through this highway to Guadalajara » added.
Stressed that there 10 projects that were started corresponding to the first investment announcement, for a total amount of 43 billion pesos. As well as eight projects for 78 thousand 494 million pesos in unfolding works and concessions to ensure road connectivity with the ‘Felipe Ángeles’ International Airport.
« In total (in the two agreements) there are 68 projects for a total of 525 billion pesos, the expected amount is 2.3 million pesos, and a significant number of these operations are already underway, » he commented.
Additionally, the second package of projects includes the participation of private works such as the construction of the T-MEC Park logistics center by the El-Mann Group with an investment of more than 13,020 million pesos.
